MSD injectors....yay or nay?

I know to stay away from accell's due to their tendancy to leak right out of the box from reviews. How are MSD injectors and what PSI are they rated at? Thanks.

Ask your tuner if he can tune for them.

HUH? I do a little of my own tuning. I seriously doubt brand has anything to do with tuning. Im more concerned with defects and reliability.

Best injector on the market IMO right now is the Bosch EV-14. Great spray pattern, consistent flow rates, but expensive than most.

If you aren't figuring on making 600-700FWHP you don't need 42lbs'rs.
Your fuel pressure would have to be real low to work and then no atomization.
If ya got a Fast System and patience you could tune them or a really good dyno tune but the are really TOO big for a normal street/strip engine.

that doesnt sound right...?

but anyways, the 42#ers will be to much for a standard bolt on engine. but if your modding your car down the line, then i have not heard anything bad about the msd's.

Re: MSD injectors....yay or nay?

I have a CC306. I know I need the range of about 32#'s but can't I just set the injector constant lower than 42#'s and have room to grow. ION does most of my tuning, however I do know a few things.

How else do you control the amount of fuel going into an engine if not pulse width and fuel pressure.(or size) You got somekind of magic formula?????

dont get your panties in a bunch. my apologies for not elaborating my opinion of what didnt sound right. i was in a bit of a hurry because my laptop battery was getting low at the time. anyways, i meant that the 600-700fwhp numbers didnt sound right for a 42# injector. the hp numbers sounded a little high for those injectors.

original poster,
using the following chart: http://paradox.shacknet.nu/dave88lx/.../injectors.htm that dave88lx made up, you can get a good idea of what size injectors that you would need for your application. as i said before, you definitely wont need injectors this size for a good bolt on application block. however, if the deal is good and your future mods would include some heads and cam and a shot of juice (or something of this nature), the injectors might be worth it to pick up. i havent heard anything bad about the injectors themselves.

1racerdude, sorry again about the confusion there. i didnt have the time to do any research before i stated my opinion.

Re: MSD injectors....yay or nay?

Everybody has an opinion of what's the best injector. And I'm not the exception. I like the Delphi / Lucas I think they're best ones out there. Try Racetronix. They're supporting vendors here, and he's having a good sale right now.

Re: MSD injectors....yay or nay?

Like I said, I found a nice deal, quite aware of racetronix, but thanks for the help. Now am I correct in assuming 42#'s will be fine for a cc306 if the injector constant is set to the one I desire (in this case, 32#)?
