MSD ignition installation

I just recently bought a MSD 6a box and blaster 2 coil. I know a lot of people use this setup on their f-body, just wondering where the best place to mount it would be. LT1s run very hot so i dont want to put it in a place where my box will heat up to high temperatures, any suggestions on where to mount it? Just seems really crowded inside the engine bay.

Re: MSD ignition installation

mount it on the driver side, right above the intake tube below where the fuel lines enter the engine bay

Re: MSD ignition installation

Back when I had one, I mounted it to one of the triangular plastic mud shields under the nose, in front. Right under where the cold air induction filter would be if that helps any.

Here's a picture.

Re: MSD ignition installation

Since I had previously removed my washer reservoir (sp?), I ended up mounting mine to the back of the bumper support in the nose. It's kinda a pain to get it mounted, but it's nice and dry and cool there. Can hardly see it with the hood open, and there are a couple nice looms to route wires in at the front.

Just another option

Re: MSD ignition installation

I put mine on the fender side of the CAI induction, pointing into the headlight housing. Had to remove that black plastic stuff in there.
