ok so i unplugged this thing and the car starts right up. i did some inspecting of the whole setup and i think i found the problem. i have no idea what im doing. is thier a big difference between the wireing harness for a 95 and a 96

or could it be that the belt is off the car and the alternator is not running

Is the MSD thing brand new or what? Is it grounded well? Power wire hooked up straight to the battery?

The MSD harness is different between 95 and 96 because the coil is different. Why do you ask?
If you have it powered and grounded correctly, sounds like your unit is bad.

it is grounded on the core support where other things are also grounded and the power is comming from the little power thing next to the battery

Possible the unit is bad then, there's a way to test it, somewhere on MSD's website. Has to do with grounding something to trigger a spark, so you can see if its sending an output signal or not. Look it up

Which wiring kit did you buy? The 95 uses a dual connector coil while the 96 uses a single connector....make sure you have the correct wiring harness kit for a 95...I've got a 95 and the install directions out in the garage..lemme know if you need me to go get em...the 96 and 95 harnesses are not interchangable...

i have the wiring harness kit pn 8876 it is for a 95
i have the msd blaster coil can't remember pn
no its not wired directly to the battery but it is getting juice. i have it grounded to a spot where thier are other things, that work, are grouded to. the coil has 4 pronged inputs and one output. the wirieng harness that the car plugs into has only one prong going into the coil im pretty sure thats where the problem is. but everything worked before i put on the msd 6a box.

Its only supposed to plug into 2 of the 4 connections on the coil..95s have a dual connector coil, but with the MSD you only use 2...I'll have to look at mine to see which pair...

if you look at the connector that goes onto the coil thier is only one prong where thier is space for two and the plug that it replaces has two going into the coil
