Going to get buddys car dyno tuned, which coil is better.

I think I remember hearing bad things about the MSD coil.

MSD = GARBAGE. Mine lasted only 500 miles before it stranded me on the roadside. I put the stock coil back in, and it still works fine, over 175k miles on it.

Beware of shiny red parts for your car!!!

I had a MSD coil go bad in three months. Car would hardly run. Sent it back to MSD and they said it was fine. I put on a Borg Warrner coil and the car ran fine. MSD sucks as far as I'm concerned.

Stock is the best by far. MSD COILS SUCK! I replaced mine with delco and no more hesitation.

why? the MSD box shortens the life of the optispark and why is the coil bad?

Yes, my first MSD Blaster coil died prematurely, but the replacement they sent me has gone 50k+ miles with no trouble. Same can happen to any coil. People have reported the same things happening with other brands as well.
I also don't subscribe to the theory that the 6A shortens the opti life, or if it does, not enough to be concerned about.

My MSD coil is 3.5 years old with 40,000 miles on it and works just fine.

I'm with shoe, I have had an MSD 6a for 4+ years and I am on the original opti (128,000 ).
