I've heard and read that MSD blasters will fail and won't yield much of a performance gain. Research the Jacobs Ultra Coil. But I'd get a stock coil over an MSD coil. :\

You probably won't feel much from any aftermarket coil. Not worth spending the extra bucks for overnight delivery. The MSD is not any better/worse than any other, IMO. Since you have a 1997 (I'm assuming), the coil is pretty good. They were improved in 1996 when they went to the single connector coil.

I don't have any personal experience with the Jacobs. I am, however, running an MSD. For the pre-96, any aftermarket coil should provide at least some spark improvement, even if you can't feel it.

The 8226 coil (dual connector) is what you would need.

8231 is the single connector coil for 96-97.

I bought the MSD coil, cause i got it cheaper than the OEM coil. I didn't notice a difference at all.
