MSD Coil Pack Bad?

I was told that an MSD coil pack (the MSD blaster) which is a stock replacement for the car, is bad for it, is this true? should I have just bought a stock one from GM?

Thanks

Nothing "bad" about the MSD.

Are they the same as the stock one?

It is a higher output coil.

Since it's a higher output coil would that not cause a problem? Poissibly with the Opti, wires or plugs?

I think what your friend was refering too was EMF. However the protective measures taken for just about any plug wires (short of solid core) out there is more than enough for a blaster coil. To be honest. even if it was a problem. it would be a wiring problem. Not the coil.

did you notice a difference between the stock coil and the msd? Throttle response, acceleration, anything like that.

I installed one of those GM Blaster coils along w/ my MSD 6A. I have had no problems since, and that was over 3 years ago. This
is a heavily modded heads/cam car, and still, no problems.
