MSD blaster coil archs to itself, installed stock coil and it archs to itself as well

I put a new MSD blaster coil in less than a month ago because my 5 year old blaster coil had finally worn out and started arching a big spark from it. Now the one I put in that is less than one month old is arching all around the three sides of the mount that it sits in. Needless to say it makes the car run like crap. I was wondering if anyone knew if there was a warrenty on the coil that would cover something like this. And if anyone had any comments to make.

Thanks
Dan

Their coils have a warranty. Check the MSD website for what you need to do.

Just to update this thread, I replaced my new blaster coil with a stock one that was good when taken off, now it is arching just like the MSD was. Is there something else that could cause this?

I'm not sure if the 4th gen f-bodies have them or not, but on most cars a bad radio interference capacitor causes the the coil to arc onto itself, altough i dont think these cars have them but they may be incorporated into another part on them
