Mr Gasket Copperseals and Breslin 1inch underhead bolts.......

did some searching instead of asking. Got the Breslin Locking header bolts for my 97 z28 w/ slp Headers. The 1" underhead length ones were recommended on a couple of posts so I got them. Also got the Mr Gasket CopperSeal gaskets to go with it. Got it all mounted up and the damn things are leaking at the top . On top of that we cant get the header bolts to turn even a little bit more. Is it possible that they are bottoming out in the head ??? Are the O-Rings that solid ??? Please I have got so much work in this and its really killin me.

They're not bottoming out. After a heat cycle or 2 try retightening them. If that still won't work, check the flanges for flatness. BTW aluminum, copper and steel is not a good combination.

cool Ill give that a shot , didnt think about the metal combo conflicting . Is there a chance the lt4 heads have les thread depth ??? I didnt even think about that. I will say tho , I did some more research and alot of people just end up tightening them a couple of times and eventually they seat. 35lbs they say , hard to do with lil wrench maybe just didnt have enough torque to crush those copper bastards ...
