Motor Pulling Question?

you can leave the exhaust manifolds on, but the y-pipe needs to come off. The radiator has to come out also, but the ac cooler doesnt. You can leave all your ac and power steering stuff intact, you just have to bend it a little bit to move it out of the way. In order to pull the motor out of the top without bashing the cowl, i suggest that you remove the tranny, clutch, flywheel and bell housing before you try to take it out. I tried to pull mine with the bellhousing still on, and because of that extra 10 inches or so, i wasnt able to lift my motor at teh angle that i needed. The bellhousing was hitting the cross member, so i had to take the bellhusing and all the other stuff off while my motor was dangling there. Label everything, and take a ton of pictures. It really isnt that hard as long as you take you time, but when you try and rush it pisses your motor off and she wont cooperate with you at all.

My buddy and I took my engine out the top this weekend.
We removed the radiator, intake manifold, unbolted the tranny and bellhousing(left the flywheel, clutch, and throwout bearing on), the water pump, and i think we took the a/c compressor off along with the crank pulley, and of course disconnect the y-pipe.
But just like Quick96z said be patient and take your time.
