Moroso CAI is PITA?
Moroso CAI is PITA?
When I bought my 96 Z it came with a moroso CAI. The annoying thing is that it goes over to the front corner of the engine bay cand goes strait down, seems easy enough. But it goes down through a metal plate that cannot be removed and the filter is on the underside...the hard part is that to loosen the clamp on the filter i have to loosen the wheel well cover and stick one hand(thats all that fits) into it in the dark to try and feel for the clamp to loose in...after its finally off the filter falls to the bottom of the car...lands on the bottom fender and i have to go underneath the car, remove the air dam and piece of the fender to reach up and pull out the filter. The first time i did this it took me 2 hours to get it out...and I was just trying to check it. Does anybody else have this problem?
Go
yea i just installed mine yesterday in my 97 z. I had to take off the air deflector and a couple big plastic pieces off the bottom side of the front end. Once you know how to do it, it isnt all that bad, but i wish now i had gone with the fipk. To top it all off my hood wont shut right now with it installed.

Yea. It's a pain in the butt to change/clean but after doing it a few times I have gotten much better with it. It really needs to be on tight. Don't get frustrated and just call it good, get it tight when you put it on. I screwed up one time and it fell out at the top end of the track and I ran over it andd sucked crap into my intake. Scared the daylights out of me too hitting that filter at 110.
mine was on car when i bought mine. real pia to service. i cut edges on metal base plate to make for easier removal from the top. the plastic bellow deformed on mine restricting airflow so i just punted and ordered an SLP one.
