Just trying to wrap up my oil problem at this point.

As discovered my mains weren't quite so loose as once thought, they seem to be pretty on par with normal street use.

.0022 on the mains and .0018/.0020 on the rods...

I'm going to get rid of this HV pump which seems to be having issues along with its spring, and go back to a Standard volume pump.

I read alot about the GM White Spring... I imagine this will help to avoid my pressure relief valve from opening up too soon in the pump correct?

My Milodon pan is a 8.25" depth pan, and this pump/pickup combo is for 8.250 pans... I'd run the Milodon pickup again, but it's a pain in the *** to measure height when under the car, so I'd like to just set this up as it gives a nice 1/4" clearance. It's basically an M55 pump with the pickup tackwelded on ready to go.

I called Melling for spring advice.. and they told me to send them back my M55HV for another HV unit in their "performance" series.. not quite what I had in mind, didn't seem to really want to talk about spring changing.

Looks like most posts indicate good luck w/ the M55 and the white spring, so this combo should work well as long as the height is OK. Wish Milodon sold pumps presetup like this.

 

What did you end up with? I have the same pan and a similar setup...
