more starting woes

OK, a while back I posted about my car not starting. New starter/battery/cables/etc... later, it still does the exact same problem but I have more observant info. I'll turn the key, but the security light in the guage area stays on. Once it goes off, usually about 4-5 minutes, I can start the car and go about my business. Lately it has been getting worse and worse and sometimes does it to me 3 times in a row before it starts. the Captain Obvious side of me says it is the factory security setting that is screwing up, yet I have no idea how to go about fixing this. Should I take it to someone or is it easy enough to do myself? (the latter part of that question is almost laughable) thanks in advance for any help.

Re: more starting woes

it is one way of checking the the vats is working correctly: http://shbox.com/1/vats_bypass.jpg

It might be the key or it might also be the ignition switch.
