More Help....

So I just got done doing my intake leak fix, I deleted my egr, and I also changed the thermo out while I was at it. I got a new thermo from autozone. Now that everything is bolted up and in the car runs fine but the cooling fans never kick off. They run constantly. they will shut off for like 30 seconds and then come back on. I am getting an SES light when the fans are on and when the fans turn off it goes away.

The thermo stat the guy at autozone gave me looks nothing like the on I pulled out of my car. Could that be the problem? If the thermo won't open wouldn't the fans stay on all the time??

Common Autozone mistake. I believe you can get the Hypertech thermostat through them though, you just have to specify that's what you want.

The LT1 thermo is different then a SBC chevy thermo.

It sounds like you got the wrong thermo, I'd get the right one.

The thermostat would not have caused the SES. Maybe you left something disconnected. If you cannot find anything, you need to get it scanned to see what the SES is about. Don't know what all you did to delete your EGR, but it could be related to that.

BTW, the fans come on because of the SES. That's normal and supposed to be that way.

Yeah I deleted the egr, as of right now only the canister and the module were deleted. I still have to delete the tube from the manifold to the intake. I know that deleting the EGR causes an SES light....but do the fans come on from that? If thats the case I am about to invest in a PCMforless tune...

I am takin it to autozone tomorrow to scan for codes...hopefully it is only the EGR.
