Which Mods? What order?

OK, I'm about to order a CAI pkg, 160 degree thermo, and skip-shift eliminator from SLP.

What else should I be replacing/installing at this time? Car is currently all stock, M6, 1995 B4C Camaro, LT1?

thye all sound good, then either a catback or a cutout, then headers...your 342's should be fine

Dumb question? Metric wrench set or not?

What are the typical socket sizes I'll need to complete the job?

Any special tools required?

Metric or no?

replace plugs/wires if they are worn out. ($50-$75)

since its easier to do that with the headers off, just add :

jethot longtube headers ($500 + $150 in gaskets, lt4km, O2 extension etc)

custom y-pipe and exhaust from headers back ($300-500)

pcm programming ($80-100)

that should keep you and your wallet busy for awhile.

Plugs/wires good idea.

Plugs/wires good idea. I just recently passed (barely w/in .001) emissions in IL and figured the B4C needs a tune up.

I will have to pass emissions again in 2005 - do I really need the headers, et al?

What about tools and sizes?

plugs and wires can help greatly if they old ones are worn out.

headers are the best basic mod you can do without getting into taking the engine apart.

you can pass emissions with headers, just slap on a high-flo cat.

as for tools, i have used a bunch of everything.........mostly sockets.......if you wanna work on your car , get a nice all inclusive tool set, or youll be running back and forth to the hardware store all the time.

For $1 you can do the skip shift mod yourself.
