when i give it the gas sometimes it hesitate a little and it sound like it is back firing in the air intake. I wonder if this a spark plug issue or a opti issue on my 94 camaro. I purchased the car used and the last owner said that it may have around 20000 miles on opti, plugs, and wires.

 

Anything that delivers spark to the cylinder can cause intermittent spark. The very first thing to do is determine if any cylinders are dead. Then focus on that cylinder to find the cause.

If all are firing then look at the plugs for any indication of a rich or a lean condition. If it's a lean condition, consider the injector.

If it's rich, consider the plug and wire first. If that does not cure it, consider a cap and rotor.

Don't forget to check the air filter. If severally dirty it can cause a rich condition that will foul the plug and cause misfiring.
