Misfire 5,6,7

Injuneer is gonna love me for this

I just took my car to the shop and the diagnosis was for bad plug wires. I have a miss on cylinders 5,6,7 only. The plugs are good and supposedly all sensors are good too. Just wondering if a miss could be caused by anything else (besides the opti of course).

Re: Misfire 5,6,7

There are many things that can cause misfires, but due to the 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2 firing order, I would concentrate on cylinder # 6. This will cause the misfire to show up in the following consecutive cylinders as well. If the misfire counts are larger on cyl #6. This is a good indication.

Try #6 wire & plug first, then #6 injector. You can swap it with another.... like 8, 4, or 3 so it is far away from the offending cylinders. Let us know how it goes.

Measure the internal resistor on the plugs. I just fixed a problem with some of them. Most plugs were measuring 3.7 K ohms (good plugs) and one measuring 47 Kilo Ohms (was begining to foul up). Not the first time I get defective plugs. I replaced that one Plug with no other than a Bosh single plat and I have been driving it for a few days and it feels good so far. I can say problem fixed. I didnt even measure all of othem. I found one bad one and measured other two. That fixed my problem.

**edit. Previous problems were fouled up plugs on diff cylinders. again problem solved by replacing plugs. I may have been buying from a store that has a shipment of bad NGK's. I will drive a few more days and will pull the plug on the cylinder to measure it and check to see if it is fouling up juts to rule out a problem with that specific cylinder that's all.
