Got a few small things wrong with the car that are begining to annoy me. Need a little assistance.

1. Power Locks wont work. Neither side will lock or unlock. The Power Accy. fuze is good. Any Ideas?

2. Driver side window will not move at all. - Absolutley nothing. Bad Motor? If so where can I get one fairly cheap?

3. Small squeak from (Im guessing) the Harmonic Balance. If I spray it with some WD-40 it goes away temporairily(SP?)

4. The "Security" Light on the dash STAYS on - I dont have that chip on the key (Didnt have it when I bought the car) - How can I get it to go off?

Any help with any of these is appreciated.

 

1. Check power at the switches. Is that with the remote or at the switches?

2. Check out the switch first then power to the motor before you replace it.

4. It must have been bypassed somehow and it is telling you that it's not working. You could pull the lamp or fix it right.

 

1. All I know is I push the button and NOTHING happens.

2. I can hear a slight noise when I push the window button but no response.

4. How would I start to fix it? I have a security system Ive put in already.

 

Check power at the switches. The motor for the window is either bound up or broken. I would have to know exactly what they did to by pass the security system to even begin to tell you how to fix it. There are alot of things involved with it. My guess is that both the theft deterrent relay and fuel pump relay were altered in their method of control somehow. You could get a wiring diagram and trace it out if you're capable. You would also need to have the right chipped key or replace the security module and get a new chipped key. That would be a dealer issue.

I have the key with the chip in it. But it wont turn the ignition. Fits down in but wont move.

 

I'll guess someone before you had a problem with the switch and replaced it. A good lock smith could rekey the the lock for your key but then you have the wiring issues to deal with. There is a seperate circuit for fuel pump control and it would have had to have been bypassed from the PCM in order to work.

 

Got around to cheking rather power was getting to the locks. The button is getting power.

When I push the lock side I get 12.32v
The Unlock side is a countinous 12.32v rather Im pushing the button or not.

Any help?

 

Check the ground path from the switch and make sure it's good. If you have voltage present on the switch when applied to be on then your ground may be bad. Power feeds through the left side and to ground on the right side switches
