Re: Mild Cams?

I have a "mild" cam, it's just a little 234/242.

Re: Mild Cams?

But seriously, you'd prolly be happy with a LT4 Hot Cam or something of the sort.

Re: Mild Cams?

A search would answer all your questions but since I am bored...

Comp Cams: CC305, XE218/224, XE224/230, GM Hotcam, LE1 Cam.

If you want a big change in sound CC306, XE230/236, GM 847.

Try contacting our supporting vendor Combination Motorsports.

Re: Mild Cams?

My baby cam, ported heads, stock stall, and slipping tranny ran me a 12.56@111.00. Thats bouching off the limiter on the 1-2 shift and shifting out of the powerband on both shifts. It has alot more left in it.

^^^^^

Those are basically all the 'off the shelf' grinds that are popular on our cars that are on the small side. 306, x230/236/GM847 obviously being on the 'bigger' side of things. The question is wha tkind of driving does the car face - if it's not a daily then why get a mild cam?

EDIT: My car was a daily at the time i got my cam, or i probably would have gone bigger. Then my heads are essentially stock withs ome light work done to clean up casing imperfections (about 4-6 hours of work total there) and a valve job...so my heads aren't going to properly support something too much bigger. Plus i would need a bigger converter. But my point is, if you go small you are going to regret it later and wish you had gone bigger. I wish i had gone with a 3200 or so converter, bigger cam, and more headwork. But live and learn. Oh, and longtubes (car had the shorties on when i bought it). Not to mention my income now won't allow all these upgrades, so i live with what i got.

Re: Mild Cams?

take a look at the XE240/230. I have heard nothing but good things about it. Works fine with stock heads and will make a good 350-360 rwhp with ported heads. and you can probably pass emissions with it, if that matters.
