Re: which mids suit you best
got mine at combinationmotorsports.com Great service, they even called me a month later to see how my car was running after i got my cam kit and headers. I think i paid around 650 or so for the headers coated with a off road pipe and arp bolts.

I'm running SLP's which are very very similar to AS&M's they are nice quality but the plug access on a few kind of suck. I would probably go with MAC's if i was you.
Re: which mids suit you best
any info on the rk sport ones? they are on sale for around the mac price so im kinda leaning to those right now for the bigger primaries in case i ever need them. i dont really plan on going over 400 rwhp, i think its just me wanting to get the most out of them which is why i want the bigger primaries. I keep going back and forth between the RK Sports and MACs.
Re: which mids suit you best
i have rk sports. they are definitely quality pieces, one of mine is bent on the bottom though from a speed bump. i would say if you are going mid's because you think the ground clearance is better you are fooling yourself. the plug access is horrible. i really do not think the access is better than stock, it might be worse. i know i will be getting rid of them eventually for long tubes and duals.
plug access is really important. i have been having some problems with the car lately. compression test, plugs pulled, not on this car. look at the color of tips? there is no way i am pulling them plugs.
if you want, i will trade you my rksports with random tech cat, all you have to do is throw me long tubes. serisouly, its not worth it

I got my MAC's coated from Jet Hot with a coated ORY for $575. Talk with Chris from Jet Hot (search the forums Chris Jet Hot or something it'll come up) and see if he can cut you a deal. I'm pretty happy with what I paid. I got the '96-'97 style. By the way, they absolutely are not legal in California or anywhere else where emissions testing exists, due to the new catalytic converter location (or lack of converters entirely) but with some O2 sims and an easy going inspector, I'm hoping to get by (Massachusetts.)

I do like my AS&M's. I havn't been to the track since the install but it does seem to have a good gain. A couple of bolts on the passenger side are terrible! I know for sure that the second bolt on the passenger side on the #2 primary is definitely tricky. I thought plug access was a hell of a lot better than manifolds. In all honesty, when I installed my plugs, I think it took me at most 20 minutes to do the passenger side. The drivers side is hella easy

I had RK Sports that were Jet Hot coated on my last car, a '95 Z28. The car ran much better with them that the Hooker LT's I had on before. Much easier to install also. Found if you have a mild setup with A4/2.73 gears your much better off with mid's or Mac's then you are with LT's. If you add gears + Converter then LT's might be worth it.
