Midlength headers

Ok, I've already decided that i want BBk shortie headers for my 93 Single cat, and im going to get it from Jegs.(about $450 with Y-pipe). Now, if i were to look at emmission legal midlength, what would be my best bet for the money?

Re: Midlength headers

rk sport mids. 1-3/4" primaries, coated, comes with y-pipe, and all air and o2 sensor bungs. On the rksport website they used to be 450.00 don't know if they still are, but I have heard that they are back ordered WAAAY back, like 2 months or something. Also, these headers are emissions legal only in that fact that they will pass emissions. BUT they don't have a carb number on em, so if by emissions legal you mean visually inspected you will not pass. The rk sport/as&m headers are unarguably the best mids out there, most people on these boards agree that these things are 98% of what you will get with longtubes. But if you've get a visually inspection to get through(like me), then you can only get a select few shorties.

Re: Midlength headers

I could be wrong, but I think that only the SLP headers, and maybe the edelbrocks have a carb# on them for emmisions.

Of those two choices, the SLP's are a good choice.

Re: Midlength headers

I honestly don't believe that most emissions testers would know the difference between headers & manifolds and as long as all of your emissions gear is hooked up and working I don't think they'ed fail you on a visual.
But I could be wrong, glad I have a 97 all they do is scan my computer for codes.

Re: Midlength headers

MAC has mids going for the same price as BBK shorties. They also have all the emission hookups.
