Angry Mid RPM Miss/Bog Down

Well I originally thought it was a fuel pump problem cause my car never started good since day 1...but now im starting to lean towards the opti too cause my idle is off a bit. From letting out the clutch and giving it some gas up to around 2.5k RPM during normal driving the car studders and bogs down pretty good then I give it some gas and no response for about 2 secs then a surge and back to normal. This happens at any time (cold or hot) Throughout the whole RPM range I feel like I have lost almost 1/4 of my total power. Doesnt pull as hard in lower RPM's like before and just the constant miss and bogging down is getting bad. A good example is...
Before I could pull away easily on this SRT4 a guy I know has from a roll @ about 40 MPH and now we are almost neck and neck throughout 3rd gear

Im a poor college kid that doesn't want to buy a $300 opti or a $200 pump and it not be the right thing I garage the car in winter so I might wait till then to fix the problem as long as it doesnt get to the point where it doesnt run anymore but I still have some car cruises this summer to go to and plenty of racing time left! Please Help!!!

Also have new plugs, wires, coil, changed the fuel filter about 7k ago but will change again. Thanks!!!!

Re: Mid RPM Miss/Bog Down

Also if I do get a new opti can I try just the MSD rebuilt kit (cap and rotor) or should I just go with a whole new GM unit? Thanks
