mid to low 12's
How much engine hp is needed to run mid to low 12's.
Right now I have a stock 95 z with 3:42's in the rear with a 2500 stall, hooker catback and a k&n fipk.Have never been to the track however the best time so far with a g-tech on street tires was a 13:20.

if those are ur only mods - your g-tech is about a good 6/10's off - assuming ur a good driver-
theres a lot that goes into getting a car into the mid to low 12's and engine horsepower isnt the only thing- personally id say about 400 hp with good suspension and some slicks-
ill let u know this spring soon as i can get a new run in
Re: mid to low 12's
Mid to low 12's can be reached with 330-400rwhp. Depends how well you put the power to the ground. Driving skills has a lot to do with it. With your current setup you may be able to do it with some long tubes and a cam. More gear and a bigger stall wouldn't hurt but if you cut a good 60 ft then you may be closer than you think. There are a lot of auto's with cams and bolt ons running in the range you looking at. Some are even in the high 11's, most of those are setup up for drag racing(full suspension, slicks, weight reduction, etc). Once you get your car to the track you will know how far away you are. After that it depends how deep are your pockets? typically you just want to go faster and faster.
