Mid 11's with xe224/230 and ported stock heads?

Would it be possible for mid 11's with the xe224/230 and ported stock heads? If not how much bigger of a cam should i go with? Heads probably ported from Lloyed elliot...

I assume this cam wouldnt pass emissions either?

Thanks

Mid 11s are maybe a stretch for that combo, I am confident you could go 11.8s with the 224/230, Lloyd Elliot or TEA heads, 3500 stall and 3.73 gears.

I'm running 12.32 with Lloyds heads and a 224/230-114LS cam, 2800 stall and 3.23s on ET streets cutting 1.7 60fts. I think with 3.73s I could run 12.10s or 12.0s and with more stall speed 11.90s or 11.80.

I think if you went to the Combo Motorsports XE 227/233 you could get there with a tad less converter though. I think no matter what you're going to need a set of longtubes rather than the hooker shorties, however.

I just got my 224/230 and shorties in a couple days ago and my car feels like a new car. I ran with my buddies LS1 that went 12.50s last year. I cant wait to get mine to the track. Im planning on high 12s with stock heads. I know that cam is plenty big enough to go 11s with a good port on the heads.

What!!! why not? Look at Ken Anderson used a hot cam with heads, his LT1 ran deep 11s, his set isnt any thing amazing. Look at FrankB, tiny cam, stock heads runing 11.50s. It can be done, get the car the right weight and get it to sixty foot. You wont do it with a 3600 lb car cutting 2.0 sixtys but It can happen captain

Yeah, I agree. If you want 11s with that cam, you'll probably have to shed some pounds. A good set of ET Streets and a nice fat stall convertor won't hurt either.

True as that may be, it still can be done. Just a matter of getting that ET. Its been done before.

anything is possible. but in all likelyhood, i wouldnt put my money on it. i would guess that high 11.70's are possible with sub 1.6 60's, under 3400 race weight, and good weather. i would expect consistent high 11's/low 12's out of a daily driver.

Well thans what the problem with my combo.... the stock ported lt1 heads, or the cam... If its the cam how much bigger should i get (suggestions) or should i get aftermarket heads... though a cam with ported stock heads would be cheaper.

if you wanting to trap 120+ NA, you need to look at AFR LT4 heads and a few more cubes would hurt either
the fastest trap i have seen on stock ported heads/BIG cam is 118-119mph with very low raceweights.
you will need to have well over 400rwhp to trap 120+
you need to lose all the weight you can spare from the car.
