Meziere vs CSI water pump

Guys i'm thinking about picking up the CSI simply becuz they'll be no need to cut the fans instead to put holes in the water pump. Wondering if you guys have any opinions on which one is better since I have to wait 2 weeks for it to come in I may change my mind, thanx...

I'd go with a stock one, but if you must, then try a CSI.

Can't use a stock pump with a cloyes timing set. The CSI is looking more tempting

I didn't know about the cloyes, but yea, go with a CSI. I've had a few unpleasant experiences with Meziere and would probably not have one again.

Someone on a different board accidentally bought 2 new Meziere HD pumps. He needed one ASAP and placed an order with a company, then after waiting for some time, ran across another one at a local shop, then some time later he received the 2nd too.

So I bought the extra one he had and installed it on my car. Two weeks later I notice THIS.

Then I email the guy I bought it from to find out the purchase details so I can talk about warranty with Meziere. He replies and says, funny, mine's dead too and I already sent it back for repair.....

My car is a daily driver, so I call Meziere and ask them if they could send me one ahead of time so that I minimize downtime somewhat. They said no. I asked them if I could pay for another one and return this one to them and they replied "So then we're gonna have a used waterpump on our hands.... sorry, can't do that."

Needless to say, I was really pissed. I ended up sending it Priority Mail to them (obviously on my expense) which was about $17 and all this for a 2 weeks old pump.... (not to mention the hassle of taking everything appart and putting it back together...)

I'd go with the CSI. You don't have to cut the radiator shroud, but you do have to grind away some material inside the stock housing (you don't have to do this with the Mezeire). I've heard of a lot of people having problems with the Mezeire lately.

Mezier sucks I had one & it went bye bye, took it apart & all the wiring was toast, changed it & it worked ever since, but still cheap stuff.

Has Meziere given any reasons (or excuses) for why the wiring seems to fail fairly regularly in their so-called 2,500 hour pumps?

I have a Meziere pump sitting on the front of my engine, but it has only seen a few dyno pulls so far. I'm tempted to replace it with a CSI pump, although I've heard that they have had problems in the past also.

I have eliminated the Opti-spark completely with a custom cam sensor setup in the front cover and a corresponding magnet in the Cloyes timing set. I won't be converting back to an OEM pump, but then again, my car won't see heavy or daily use anyway.

So is the CSI a 2500 hour pump, less or more?

From the CSI web site...

"The pump motor design is made in the USA and has been tested up to 5500 hours of continuous running."

I'm impressed, now it's worth the wait and money.
