I admit your engine was a dirty one, but I've been way dirtier than that, working on some old machines!

That's why I try to keep my car/engine clean. So much nicer to work on.
Yeah that engine was FILTHY! Actually that pic there though was from Germany, pulling my AOD out of the Mustang.

Check out this tranny!!!

Didn't help I POPPED the pan off w/o letting it down a little to drain first!

I have seen some high mile SBCs that looked like that on the inside .

Nothing like the smell of good sludge.

I've got a friend who is a mech by trade 15 years+. He just started wearing them. He swears by them, and as a side benefit, he says his gf lets him play with her ******* much more often now since his hands are cleaner and softer.

I highly recommend the MPact glove by Mechanix. I have a pair of them, the regular Mechanix gloves, and the fastfit type. I use the MPact gloves when I'm doing any kind of hard hammering or leverage work since they have this nice silicone gel padding on the backs of the hands and thicker inside palm leather.

MPact - $24.99
Normal - $19.99
Fastfit - $14.99

or thereabouts. $5 is worth it to me and the MPacts have lasted me at least a year. I just wore through the index finger a few weeks ago.

I have big hands and have a hard time getting them into places. I would not even want to try to put a glove on top my hands.

Little girly hands....oh...so cute.....haha

No doubt. I don't have fat arms, but I have BIG hands IMO, and many others. I dunno about tight places, but I think it's one of those "once yo start can't stop" type of deals.

I use them for big things like a tire/wheel swap or exhaust where you don't really have to feel anything. For smaller things I perfer the latex style gloves, that way you can still feel around and don't have a bulky glove on.

I actually am considering getting a pair being a lot of the work I do is not in tight spaces.

Guess they are not just a crappy pair of gloves after reading some responses in this thread.

Obviously, there are times where you can't use gloves, but you would be surprised how many times you can use them. You can pick up change with them.

turning a tightly torqued bolt (my head bolts) is a great place to use them
