Red face Mechanix Gloves review!

i just have to say they are kick ***-

Intake manifold, headers (all but 3 bolts), rockers, heads and tow hitch went on with only one busted knucke

I only did half the work in the intake though...

anyway, i wish i had them the first time around when i was doing the motor/headers. They aren't really restrictive or "goofy" when you wear them either.

anyway, if you can swallow your "real men bust their knuckles" pride- great way to blow $15.99. I really dont need a busted knuckle to proove my manhood... ahh the joys of not being "undersized"

Thumbs up

Yup, that's the only way to fly!

$16 is well worth it IMO.

Well, I like them, but they are still a far cry from feeling like bare hands. I made the mistake of changing my oil with them and they have been soaked every since, so I don't wear them unless I don't mind oily hands that stink. I guess I need two pair, one for light work I do when I have to stay clean and one for dirty work.

When mine get soiled with grime and grease, I just put them in a pail of hot water and use one of the good smelling degreaser spray cleaners, dishwash soap, etc. Rise them well and then hang them up to dry somewhere. I keep a set in each vehicle, in case I end up at a buds house on a wrenching on a project.

I smoke thru these gloves. I use them for any manual labor. I buy the $30.00 styles. They are lifesavers. Keep our hands feeling soft and supple! Great product indeed.

ever since I started my job, mine have been falling apart. Thats only because they get caught on the steel belts of bald tires and get pinch between the tires and balancer hub. I'm gonna be getting another pair soon(co-worker has hook ups)

Wow, so the gloves are actually useful? FWIW, I must be good. Yanked the engine out the top and not even a busted knuckle the whole time That was a first!

I like to be able to feel what I'm working with and put one finger on a bolt to hold it if need be...I wouldn't think I'd be able to feel it with gloves on

If you can convince me I may get some, but that's $15 more I could put towards getting this hunk of **** running

there are gloves that have the finger parts removed, so its just your palm thats protected, or you could just cut out the fingertips of the gloves

I admit your engine was a dirty one, but I've been way dirtier than that, working on some old machines!

That's why I try to keep my car/engine clean. So much nicer to work on.
