Mcleod or Spec???

Mcleod or Spec???
I need another clutch after only 5,000 miles on my SLP setup. I wanted to get a Street twin but i heard that a street twin and a 10 bolt don't go together. I was then looking at the Spec stage 2 but i have read some bad stuff about the specs using the same springs that they use on 4 cylinder cars. Is the Mcleod single disc good also or is just the street twin good and is it okay to use with a 10 bolt rear or will that destroy it to? If it is a good clutch then can i use the pressure plate and flywheel that i get with that on a street twin later on down the road when i have a 12 bolt? Any help would be appreciated because i don't wanna get a clutch and have problems with it like i am with my SLP after 5,000 miles, ecspecially since this is my daily driver and only car. Thanks.

Im running a lt4 PP and a mcleod single disk which hits very hard. And if it supports a mild engine such as mine it should be fine on yours. Things to look out for on clutches is you dont want to much. If you have to much clutch it will pull your engine down on launch and cause a bogg, if it slips a lil it causes faster takeoff.

A street twin would be complete overkill for where your car is right now. It's actually overkill on my 375 RWHP car too. I'd personally suggest a McLeod Single Disc setup. I ran that clutch on my bolt on car (before the head/cam) for over 2 years of hard track abuse and it never gave me a problem until the very end. Great setup that supposedly holds up to 400 HP.

Well i have a new SLP PP but i'm gonna get a new Mcleod PP if i decide to go with the mcleod clutch. I don't wanna get the street twin without a 12bolt but if the single disc is good then i will probably just get that. I'm also gonna get a new flywheel also. Has anybody had any problems with the single disc? Also does anybody know if they sell the single disc in a package like they do the street twin.

Well, I never had any problems with the single disc setup, but some people have come across a warped disc every now and then.
I don't believe that they sell it in a package. You have to buy everything seperately.

Well i'm gonna get the single disc from them then. Do you think it is a good idea to just get all there parts like the steel Flywheel, Pressure Plate, or do you think i should just use my SLP pressure plate and get a fidanza aluminum flywheel?

Yeah that must be nice. I can't afford a 12 bolt or 9 inch right now so i'm just gonna stick with the single disc for now. But do you think i should get all there stuff or just use the existing pressure plate i have now?

As long as your Pressure plate is new you can use it with a Mcleod single disc. ALL pressure plates for LT1 set ups are the exactly the same. They are made by Valieo since the own the patent on it right now.
Slp is a valieo plate with holes drilled in it.
Centerforce is Valieo with some weights tacked on.
Have you stock Flywheel resurfaced, Use your SLP PP, and purchase a Mcleod 7,200rpm pad.
There is no need to purchase a flywheel right now.
