Maximum Life of Lt-1???
Depends on the driver and the care taken on the car it will vary. But my car had all but 78K on it and I spun my bearings so go figure. I thought it was a perfect "wednesday" motor. Ran a 14.1 right outta the show room.
I've heard of well taken care of LT1's puttin' 150k-250k on the clock with no problems at all. Just minor replacement issues like tuneups, water pump, maybe opti. Mine has 110k on it and still running like a champion. Although it is well taken care of, it see's hard driving almost every day. I bought it with 83k on the clock and never looked back. I've replaced my waterpump and given her a tuneup. That's it. Just make sure the previous owner didn't beat the car to a pulp. I've heard of people with 20k-40k needing to replace stuff also, so it's hard to say.
I have 136k on the engine and the car beat an 01 LS1 the other nite.
I have put alot of stuff on the car but the only things I HAD to change were the opti and the fuel pump, everything else was replaced with upgraded parts.
Tranny was just recently rebuilt.
The motor itself is tip top and runnin strong.

Treat it right and I have no problem believing an LT1 can go 250k. I intend to prove that with mine. (I've got a way to go though, I'm only at 92k right now, but it still runs as strong, if not stronger than new)
My dad works with a guy that has a 94 z28 and it has 220,000 mile on the clock and it has the original t56 and motor and all he has had to replace are small things like opti, water pump and general maintenance things.
i have 162000 on mine with no worries at all still have the original opti. car runs strong. i have never lost to a stock ls1 have been beaten by one with headers and 3.73 gears it was an m6. beat one 3 weeks ago that had 3.73s in a m6 and i held him off till about 110 and he started reeling me in. but that has nothing to do with the longevity of the engine, but i said that to say this its all out how you take care of it. its a great engine. and i promise i take care of my car but when we are racing, i let it all hang out. you take care of it and it will take care of you.
i have a buddy that has a 94 z (viper killer on the board) who goes with me alot and he thinks it funny how i walk off from these ls1 with 160k plus

127K miles here, and spraying 100 - 150 shot with race gas
stock cam, stock heads, stock bottom end......
LT1 engine is strong as hell, but the other parts that supporting this engine are just 100% crap

When we pulled my motor out to do my 383 swap, my old motor had about 120K miles on it. I took real good care of the old motor, always changing my oil every 2500-3000 Miles (NEVER OVER) and we almost fell over backwards to see how great a shape the old motor was it, the wear looked like it only had about 40K miles on it. If you take good car of the motor and maintainance, it will last you a long time.
