Max bore size?

I was wondering what the max you could bore out a LT-1. I had mine bored out to a 383 stroker and then I dropped a new 12 bolt in the rear and took it up to Firestone to get it aligned. They smacked the oil pan against the hoist and killed my oil pressure and fried my motor. Now I'm wondering if I can take it out any more or if I have to get a new block. I want this to be able to hold up to a high hp supercharged application.

Thank you LT-1 guru's

You can go as far as I have seen a .060 overbore, but not a lot of people here do that. It just makes the cylinder walls very thin. I wouldn't worry to much with a .040 bore. That is what I would suggest you to go with.

Re: Max bore size?

I have .060 with the stock stroke and it runs fine with hyperuratectic pistons and it has no heat problems and hasn't given me any problems. I did it for top end but I'd recommend .040

Re: Max bore size?

I'm in the middle of sueing them, so hopefully they'll have to pay for it. It sure is there fault, but they're denying it. It's already .030 over so I hope taking it out to .040 will clean it all up. I don't want to go to .060, I'm a litlle afraid of what might happen.

Thanks guys

Steve
