Master slave install

I have an 94z 6speed, I need to find some info on installing a new one. Anyone have any write ups or online info. I know it is not that hard, just want to know what I am getting into.

Thanks Mark TIsdale

Re: Master slave install

There is a U bolt that holds the master cylinder to the fire wall, has two nuts on the inside of the car that have to be removed (right under steering column. There is also a clip on the clutch pedal that has to come off. You then remove the reservoir near the brake booster. Get under the car and take off the two nuts that hold the slave on and remove the bolt that holds the line to the transmission.

To install, reverse (remember to cut the zip ties off the new one, i learned that the hard way).

Re: Master slave install

is it the "master" cylinder, or is it the "slave" cylinder. the master you access at the clutch pedal. the "slave" cylinder is on the bellhousing(2 bolts i believe and it's off). also, for what it's worth, i wouldn't replace one and not the other. you should get a complete pre-bled system. you can usually find them around 150$ includes slave, master, reservoir, and hoses. if you only replace the one thing then you have to bleed the PITA system.

just my 2 pennies.

yup, bleeding the system is a huge PITA since there isn't a valve or anything.
