MAss Airflow Sensor?

Hello everyone, am new to the board, and 5 days ago purchased a 1994 Z28 Camaro, burgundy in color, hardtop, automatic w/ 3.23's with 49,000 miles on it for $2k and was wandering if spending $300 on a Mass Airflow Sensor is worth the money, or is there better ways to spend money. Am looking to make power without taking apart the engine, or anything major. ( mostly bolt-ons) Is going to be a street/strip vehicle, driven very little. Thanks for all the help in advance.

I would not bother with a aftermarket MAF . I would spend the money on a good cat-back or air filter kit first. Then look into headers when you have the money.

is it better to buy a cat-back system for lets say $500 or spend $100 on just a muffler ?

I would buy a whole cat back. It is going to a full 3 inch diameter instead of the stock 2 3/4. It will also have mandrel bends , which will flow better .

That money can be spent for much better mods.

Check out http://ws6.com/mycar.htm to see which mods give the best bang for the buck.

A catback and cold air intake should be your first mods. I wouldn't spend the money on the aftermarket MAF at all.

$2,000! Is the car in decent shape? Do a search on here for mods and read up what everyone else is doing. There are probably 1,000 threads regarding this exact topic.

Car is in EXCELLENT shape. 9 out of 10 on the body, tires have 80% tread on them, 9.5 out of 10 on the engine bay, and it runs VERY well. GOt it from a 65 year old lady who inherited it from her son who recently passed away. Lives two houses down from me and i've talked to her and her son about the car and complimented it many a time. She called me one day with the news and told me I could have first choice on whethere or not I wanted to buy it. Couldnt pass up the offer.
