I'd like to get a set of headers, but I'm really not sure about which are the good ones and which ones suck. I really don't want to spend more than $300 if possible. So basically, I want some good cheap headers.

 

You'll find MAC midlengths here on the board for around that. I've even seen some Jet Hot LTs here not to long ago that were coated and less than a month old for $475. Just keep an eye out in the for sale section. Something nice and within your budget should come along.
