many miles does it take before an LT1 is shot
1 MILLION dollars for either a swap or a build

seriously dude nobody can answer that question, the engine will last up until the point it blows

as far as a rebuild depends on how much work you do yourself whether not you want to buy better parts for it
jeez dude give us some info
well I just wanna hear from everyones experience and round off numbers and stuff...I wanna buy a z28 and if theres one for 130k miles then I wont get it if they blow at 150 or something and if that does happen i wanna know how much i'm lookin into to rebuild it and I know it depends what i want to rebuild and clean and stuff...Sorry it was too vague.
If you just wanted to put it back to stock, you could get away with 600 -1000 if you are doing most of the work yourself.
Depends.
Depends.
Depends.
Not trying to be smart, but, literally, there are so many variables for
each of the questions, it just depends.
For the first question, it depends on how the car has been cared for.
I've seen V8's only last 90k miles and some 300k! It just depends on
how the car is cared for and serviced. You will be able to tell by
looking at it and asking lots of "maintenance" questions. For me, I
bought my 95z a couple of years ago at 120k+ miles and I now have
over 150k and runs as strong as ever (only 1 previous adult owner).
To the second question, it depends what you want to do with the
rebuild. Do you just want to do a stock rebuild? Do you want to go
all out and do a complete high-performance rebuild? Or do you want
to do something "in-between"?
For the third question, if you're referring to a "swap" as in swapping
the engine out for a stock crate motor - I've recently seen an LT1
crate motor, brand-spanking-new, for $4900.00. If you're talking
about a swap-out with a low-mileage engine from a junk-yard, well,
that will depend on the condition of the engine. If you're talking
about some other type of swap, you'll have to be more specific.
