Making a 94-97 CAI work on a 93
Making a 94-97 CAI work on a 93
Made a thread awhile ago asking how to do it, never really posted my results.
Cold Air Intakes are a great first mod, but it really sucks to have to spend $200 on a new one, when you can find them pretty cheap used. The problem for us 93 guys is most companies made a specific cold air intake for our years because we don't have a MAF sensor; making it hard to find used ones.
I recently bought a used Moroso Cold Air Intake for $70 shipped. Problem is, it was for a 94-97 LT1; the one made for 93's is 4 inches longer to make up for not having a MAF.
So with a rubber coupler, a very small piece of PVC, and some clamps, I made this:

A small piece of PVC pipe was needed so the two clamps on the left would have something to clamp onto (inside the end of the elbow and the coupler). Hope this mite help someone out.

Also guys, I'm looking for the real piece made by K&N to fit. K&N sends them with all Cold Air Intakes, so if you don't have a 93, you don't need one. If anyone would b e willing to send me one (I'll pay shipping) let me know.

We had to cut a peace of I believe 3 inch exhaust pipe about the same length and coupled it to the cold air. The other part just slid in to the intake elbow, simple coupler to get it to couple with the cold air.
i did the exact same thing... i bought a callaway (same design as moroso, moroso bought them out) and realized that it wasn't long enough so i went along to the local home depot, and prepared to ghetto rig the **** out of my car some more!
