Makeing first gear selectable on a 2.73 car

I posted before and was told to cut the plastic, I popped off the armrest on my friend's 94 Trans Am and could not find what needed to be cut. Could anyone tell me the location of that damn piece of plastic???

with the plate off pull the shifter as far as it will go it will come to rest on a plastic tab

you will see it

It's a black plastic block under the console...

You dont need to cut or remove anything.

Put the shifter in 2nd.
Gasp the handle firmly
****** it down into 1st gear. It will break the retainer in doing so.

Sounds rough, but it works.

and i used a hack saw blade

that is definitly much less time comsueming wish i would have though of that
