major problems
Any guesses on this one?My car ran fine not to long ago, until I was driving and I heard a loud clicking noise, well turns out that my header bolts came loose. One came completly out of the cylinder head, and the other half way out.We put new header bolts in(jet hot long tubes). And now when I try to start the car,it barely starts and then 3 seconds later it dies with the service engine soon light on.I disconnected the battery and then reconnected it hoping my computer would reset itself and eliminate any trouble codes. But it still didnt work.Any guesses before I have it towed and get charged $60 and hour?Any help would be appreciated!!By the way my car has 50k original miles on it,and now 6k on my new stroker motor.
Perhaps the plug wires got bumped, disconnected or burned during the header repair. I would say to look over every wire either plug or anyother wire to see if it's at the right connection point and plugged in correctly. Pay particular attention to the plug wires at the opti and check the firing order while you're there for the hell of it.
it barely starts and then 3 seconds later it dies with the service engine soon light on.
Have you tried it with the engine cold (overnight cold). If it starts and idles till it goes into closed loop and then dies I would say you burnt Oxygen Sensor wires.
If it still does it in open loop then I would say check all your conections up and including the ignition switch. Plug a fuel pressure test gage on it and crank her watchin the fuel presure.
My car does the same thing when I activate the fuel shot off (my alarm does it) It starts and three seconds later it dies.
I think there is an unplugged, loose or burnt wire somewhere.
