Major prob with LSD please help

Ok I am truly stuck...

All I am trying to do is pull out my old auburn differential. This is a 1996 firebird formula - the LSD is worn out and for the past 2000 miles it has been roaring like crazy. So here is what I have done.

Pulled off the rear diff pan thing (10 bolts)
Pulled both axels
Removed the only four bolts that I see holding the diff in
Pulled the horseshoe looking brackets that support the races for the diff.

I thought that was all I needed to do for the diff to wiggle out, but the thing won't budge even after putting a 2.5 foot pry bar to it.

Anything you guys can suggest would be awsome!

Isn't there a big king pin in that thing that has to be pulled out? Its been awhile since I've messed with that stuff.
Also, when swapping them out, aren't you going to have to reset the backlash?

yeah I know the big pin your talking about - It is already out -Thanx for the suggestion though. Oh and the backlash, yeah I know it will be close if I reuse the shims from the auburn - I'll be putting in a slp zexel pull off, but I still can't get the old diff out. What is the deal?????

SUCCESS - After thinking about the problem for a full day - It became obvious that I should take a large metal rod and pry till the B!tch gave in. Thanx for the help.

Yeah, there's usually quite a bit of preload on the bearings, so it takes a little force to get it out. You may also have to tap the new one back in very gently w/a non-marring hammer.
