Major overheating after starting!>>>

Ok. I have my car back togther after new opti and water pump/thermo. Now the car overheats within 2 minutes of starting!! WTF!! I filled it, bled it, checked for leaks, it also has a brand new coolant temp sensor. Nothing works! What should I do?!!

Yeah I'm pretty sure it works. I just pulled the cap off and watched the fluid move. Then like three minutes later it flowed OUT of the radiator spout!! Like it was burping it out. I don't know. I tried a search on here and I couldn't really find anything to help me.

you've got your hoses switched.

look on the top left of your radiator...right by the cap...there are two hoses...those are switched....

mine would always puke the water out of the resevoir...the hoses were switched.

Ok, I just went out there and looked at it and I'm not seeing how that's possible. All the hoses seem to only be able to go to one certain place. I mean I really hope that is it ya know. I would hate to have to replace a head or gasket...thanks!

If you open a bleeder and coolant does not come out, then it must be air. Did you fill the system properly by having the bleeder screws open during filling?

yeah...those two hoses CAN fit in either hole...they're pretty much the same length...it was very easy for me to switch them...

i recommend you do what i suggested, and if that doesnt work, then you should do the whole re-flush thing...

when you switch the hoses, turn your car on, keep an eye on the gauge, and turn the screw and bleed the system until coolant starts to come out of that little hole on the screw...

take off your radiator cap and make sure that there's enough fluid in there, because if your system has a lot of air in it, the water level will go down a lot once the air starts coming out.

So what do you guys think? I checked the hoses and they seem fine and in place. I will go over them again. Is it possible to mis-align the water pump?

Update...

Ok, I flushed the system again and filled it back up with the bleeder valves open. I also filled the block up through the thermo housing. I have totally bled the system of air through the bleeder valves. It still overheats. I also now know that the fans are not coming on when the car gets hot, only when you turn the AC on, and then only one came on. So I wired the two up together now they both come on with the AC and it STILL got way hot. At first it seemed like it wasn't going to get hot but after a few minutes (like 4-5) it did. I am at the end of any idea of what to do. Any more ideas??? Please help!!

I don't guess I know which hoses you are talking about. All the hoses I see are bent and routed to only go in certain places. I only removed hoses from the water pump, none from the radiator. I see at the top left hand side of the radiator where the spout is, is the overflow hose and another one right under it that is larger than it. I really appreciate the help.

So how do I make sure the pump works? I left the cap off...wired the fans to stay on, and then after it reached 210 it started gurgling the fluid out! It just kept going over 210. Im not really seeing the fluid moving besides flowing out.

Ok, I just went and looked at my old water pump. I pulled on the shaft and a little "sleeve" came off. I've never realized it was there. Is it possible I forgot to transfer this over to my new pump or should the new pump have that?
