major hesitation/low power

95 lt1, t56, kooks headers, CAI, magnaflow... thats about it, 160 thermostat.

I dont know where to start... but i'll try to single out the symptoms.

engine is really weak.
engine used to be a lot louder, not sure what changes the tone of the engine.
used to engine brake a lot louder and faster than it does currently.
not terribly powerful in any gear, not even first.
and in 6th gear, it knocks... doesnt seem to in any other gear... it seems to have about equal power at 2000 rpms as 5th does at 3000 or so, but at least 5th doesnt knock and retard... although neither one is a sure way to acceleration, just happy to not be losing speed going up a minor hill...
i guess i've really stepped on it in 3rd or 4th, and got a knock out of it.

finally hooked up my computer(freescan) to check out the sensors.
everything seems to be fine, and what i would consider a knock, is the clutch pedal kicks back at me(not really that audible, maybe a slight bucking sound)... finally hooked up the scanner, to realize every time i notice a pretty strong "kick" it adds about 500 to the knock counter... obviously each time was a little different, and some of the minor kicks to the clutch didnt retard the timing where as some of strong knocks would kick it back 10* than 4* than 1*.

so for all intensive purposes... if i drive like a granny... the car seems fine... realistically has a top speed of about 80mph, unless its down hill.

seemed like all the sensors were registering properly. air flow increased as i stepped on the gas, MAP sensor increased based on load, and pedal position. water temperature changed, and gradually warmed up as expected. tps also showed accurate response.
i cant say much about the o2 sensors, they seem to be going from .9 to .1 on a dime... back and forth... nothing constant. but they are fairly new, within the last year, no more than about 5k miles on them.
