Mail order tune...obd1 or obd2?
I'm gonna be ordering a mail order tune probably from madz28 pretty soon. My car is running very rich. The A/F is Mid to low 11's across the rpm range and around 5300+rpm it drops to the mid 10's. So i'm gonna get it tuned. What kind of stuff should i ask for. My mods are in my sig. Also do you think i should convert to an obd1 or stay with the obd2? Is there any more hp when you convert to obd1? I already have an obd-2 scanner. But if it is worth the extra money to go to obd-1 then i will do it. Let me know what you think.
While you're at it you can get the rear O2's deleted, the AIR deleted, the EGR deleted, have him program for the 160 stat, remove the CAGS etc. As far as going to OBD1, the only real reason that people do it is the ease of tuning, at least this is my understanding. As far as extra horsepower from converting, don't get your hopes up. If you already have something to scan OBDII just stick with it.
Your set-up is fairly stock, I don't see why you would be running so rich.
Many say the switch to OBD I is worth a few HP. The problem is you would run into a problem trying to scan the car. Your OBD II scanner won't be able to read the OBD I computer, and the a OBD II scanner won't plug into the port on your car. I don't know what you would do in that situation. I'm sure some others will chim in and let you know. I would advise you to stay with OBD II. Especially if you have to pass emissions. In my state they plug their computer into OBD II cars and scan them.

I will probably just do the obd2 tune then. I don't know why my car is running so rich. Both my o2's are new and i deleted my cats. As for emissions i do have them and i have the worst of them since i live in Cali. But my car won't pass emissions anyways so obd1 or obd2 won't matter either.
