Magnaflow is quieter than flowmaster right?

I just want to double check before I go to the exhaust shop this afternoon. I'm getting a custom 3 inch I pipe and my choice of either flowmaster or magnaflow. I want the quieter one, plus I hear the flowmaster supposedly sounds worse.

So the magnaflow is quiter right? thanks

as for loudness...tough to tell, i drove with my cutout open alot...so to me it WAS quiet...

I have a Magnaflow catback and a buddy has a Flowmaster muffler.

His car has headers and it's a single cat car.

I'm on stock manifolds and dual cats.

My car is quieter than his. It sounds a little more "civilized" than his.

I just went from Flowmaster to Magnaflow yesterday... Not a huge difference in loudness...both pretty much the same. Magnaflow is a bit deeper than the Flowmaster but I think the Flowmaster sounded very nice once the revs were up. I also like the look of the polished stainless(magnaflow) versus the aluminized pipe(flowmaster).

Magnaflow is similar and a little quieter. More horse and looks better than Flowmaster. I got pics in sig if you care to look.

Thanks guys, I got the mangaflow and I like it alot. Mines pretty mellow sounding at idle compared to the flowmaster knockoff I had before and while the volume is about 2-3 notches down from my old muffler, it just sounds a lot more refined and no resonance is present at all when I cruise..

As for the muffler, the one I have is the generic mangaflow Camaro replacement, not the one with the catback. The muffler with the catback is more strait through and has the tail pipe that loops around from one side of the muffer to the other. Mine looks like a stock muffler.

Thats the magnaflow to get.All those crossflow style mufflers do not flow as good as the straight design. The magna flow that loops around looks stupid but it works better. As far as sound goes to each is own,but the greatest exhaust I've heard is the corsa pace car edition for the vetts.I wish they could make something for us lt1's to sound like that.

Personally, I like the tone of Flowmaster. I don't think anything can top it.

Now that Ive broke in the Magnaflow.....I LOVE IT!!! Its very deep and mellow a tad louder than the flowmaster....a much better sound than flowmaster on an LS1 anyway ...in my opinion. Have yet to hear it on an LT1.
