Magnaflow people inside!!!

I'm getting ready to replace my stock exhaust with a catback of some sorts. I really wanted to go Borla but i cannot justify 700+ for an exhaust. I'm curious about Magnaflow systems. How do they sound, was there much of a performance gain, price, etc. Any pro's or con's are appreciated! Thanks for you help everyone!

Later,

Mike

There have been so many posts lately about Magnaflow. Do a search and you should have enough reading material for a month.

I purchased my magnaflow for $240. I am very happy with it. I haven't yet installed it because I am waiting to put my new engine, headers, and custom Y pipe on. My friend has a 99 SS and the other has a 97 Z28 and they sound awesome. There was some popping at first, but when the "wore" in a little it just sounds mean at WOT. It does sound a little better on the newer fbodies, but it still sounds very good with the LT1. Plus the whole set up is really nice. It is all 3" stainless, the muffler is a shinney stainless and the pipes are 18", 3.5" stainles. The only problem is that they have a slight slash on them, as in slanted tips, but for 15 bucks the shop is going to make them round. So, for $255 it is a great deal.

Just click on Z28ROC's webpage and he has some bad(good) clips of what it sounds like and the way it looks. His clips were one of the factors into getting the setup
