Magnaflow to Loudmouth?? Maybe

Well don't really think the Magnaflow system is loud enough for my ears. Should I invest in a cut-out and offroad Y pipe for my Magnaflow system or ditch it and get a Loudmouth. How loud would my car be with the Magnaflow system without cats?

dont know about w/o cats but my buddy has a 96 z with the l/m and let me tell you...
it is LOUD
i've heard him rev to like 2k and it was like ground shaking-in a good way
heard the drone is a bear on the highway if you have an auto (course some may like that)
but yea, my buddy has set off car alarms in a parking garage wit it
and i've heard most say that w/o cats it sounds like @$$ but some love it- personal preference
i suggest searching for some clips of it on here then see if you like it

When you put the headers on the loudmouth will sound nice if you keep the dual cats. I have a set of midlengths and the LM with only a single cat, I think it sounds great.

P.S. people get mad at night when you are driving home late hehehe

I've got SLP shorties, stock cat and y with a LM. One of my buddies has Edelbrock shorties, no cats and Flow catback. Another has stock manifolds, no cats and Hooker catback. My car is prob the loudest but the others sound great. The Flows sound awesome. My opinion is to just get a cutout or take of your ypipe and go no cats. If you dont like no cats then just get a cutout. No reason to spend more money. I think it'll sound good with no cats. JMO

Any idea how loud my car would be without cats with the Magnaflow system? Also, how much louder is a cut-out than a loudmouth system?

I think it will sound like my buddies Hooker. Great idle, nice snarl with a quick rev and awesome at WOT. Sounds great. Deeper and louder without cats. I say a cutout is a bit louder than a LM but not that far off. Go with both, a cutout is only 30 bucks(I think).

I would recommend doing an electric cutout. I honestly think LM makes your car sound like a POS. It is way too raspy and the noise get extremely old quickly.

I used that Y-pipe and I must say it is the biggest peice I have ever seen, the flanges were not lined up and the drivers side had to be ovated to clear the floorpan.

had the Magnaflow on my stock cat 96z...sounded nice...not too loud

installed it on my new 99z with the ORP in place of the cats....AND IT'S FREAKING LOUD for a mufflered car!

screams at WOT...and is mellow but aggressive around town.

higly advised to stick with the MF and no cats....

plus the added hp you'll gain from the orp will be nice as opposed to spending $400 on a new exhaust for the same hp as before just more noise.

Please, and I do stress that please...do not get Loud Mouth and gut/dump your cats. It will sound like a dump truck if you do. Loudmouth, IMO is the worst sounding catback around.
