Unhappy MAF symptoms

car use to not run, or start and die if i ever unplugged the maf, now it'll run without it.. the reason i'm asking is because at anything under like 1700rpms it's jittery. all gears, doesn't matter, and it kinda feels like it's going to go, then it gets sluggish, then feels like it's all good, then a lil sluggish..( all the go and sluggish is in the span of WOT for about 5 seconds until it hits about 4500 rpms and goes like a bat outta hell..) i'm thinking it's the maf cause my map is new and so are my o2's.. this just started happening 2 days ago when i got it outta storage.. it had no gas in it when i put it away, i made sure of that, i filled it up with some awesome gas as usual and a lil injector cleaner. feels like a rich issue cause it sometimes smells a lil rich.. that and it would never run before without the maf hooked up and plugged in.. it idles fine from what i'm seeing, just like it allways has. i don't know what the hell's wrong.. any ideas..

Re: MAF symptoms

Well, it definately sounds like a rich issue. Not necessarily the MAF though.
4th gens will run without the maf, if it was died on you before it'd only because it didn't switch to speed density fast enough.

Now I'm confused, this jittery stuff, is this with the MAF? If so does it do it without it?

Re: MAF symptoms

Well, I'd start by checking the ses light

autozone does it for free.
