maf gasket??

So I'm all ready to put on my lingenfelter cai, I take off the stock piping then take the gasket that went from the maf screen to the intake piping and attempt to put it on the lingenfelter piping. Of course with my luck the gasket is ripped and will not make a fit between the two. I went to autozone to try to pick up a new gasket, they dont carry it. I then go to the nearest dealership and the parts man said that there is no gasket that goes between the maf screen and the intake piping. I bought my car used so now I'm all confused. I tried just clamping the two things together but the plastic is too thick, so the clamp doesn't hold the two together. Is there really a gasket that goes there, and where would I go about getting one?

I don't know of any gasket on the MAF. Maybe you are trying to describe something else.

I'm trying to describe the piece of rubber that connects the maf sensor to the plastic intake piping. Is this part not on the stock car? The previous owner of my car did alot of screwy things with the car, which I am slowly finding out about. So is the intake piping just clamped onto the maf sensor?

Pick the number any number. And don't say 10 (I think you will), cause they don't list a part number with it. I assume it comes with the MAF. But, I'm not sure.

Edit: Yes it does come with the MAF sensor, so you may have to junk yard scavenge for one if you really need it. Maybe someone will be generous and help you out.

Number 10 is just a regular hose clamp. You can get them at any parts store or Home Depot.

10 is coupled with the rubber gaskets he is talking about. Yes he can get the clamps, but they won't come with the rubber.

yeah, mine is ripped also and i tried calling the dealer and they don't know jack. i will call jason cromer tomorrow, he'll know what i'm talking about. it's the rubber piece that the clamp goes on between the maf sensor housing and the air intake housing not the elbow intake. probably why i'm running rich.
