hrmm i think its broken

are there supposed to be 3 rails on each side?

or just 3 on one side and 2 on the other?

cause i got 3 on one side and 2 on the other side... which is the correct way ?

and if so what difference will it make?

basically...don't clean it...

what makes you think you need to? rough running?

if it IS running rough, try unpluging the maf altogether, if it runs better you know you maf is the culprite

if it is...just upgrade to a recalibrated ZO6 maf from www.ls1speed.com for $150

Geeesh, the guy only asked how to clean the MAF, not that it was bad, or that his car was running rough. My car seemed to run smooth until I cleaned my MAF. It was super smooth after I cleaned it.

If the screen is on there, it is pretty difficult to reach the sensors. I would just buy a can of electrical parts cleaner from the auto parts store and spray the screen with a pretty good blast. That way you will loosen up and blow out any stuff that may be built up on the screen and clean the sensors behind the screen. Let it air dry, then hook it back up. It may help, maybe not, depending on if the sensors were dirty or not before you spray it.

One of the rails is only a half rail, which is normal. So it doesn't sound broke to me.

I think there are only 3. I'm almost positive that there are not 4.

Be careful when you blast it, that you don't do it so hard that you break one of those tiny wires that the sensors are on.

I just used throttle body cleaner and some q-tips to clean mine. It was pretty easy. I just took the maf apart. I sprayed the screen real good with the cleaner then i cleaned the sensors and wires that run across with the qtips and cleaner. Really easy. Car runs smoother also.
