Hello,

I'm looking for recommendations on a Detroit-area Machine Shop/Engine Builder familiar with the LT1 and who has experience with the splayed main conversion (flat register). Here is what I'm looking for:

Hot tank (bake) block
Magna flux block
Sonic check block
Hardblok
Machining for splayed caps - Program Flat Register plus Steel Front
Stroker clearance
Bore and hone w/ deck plates
Deck block
Install cam bearings and plugs
Balance Rotating Assm.

I would prefer to not end up with +$2000 in a production block.

Please let me know if you have a recommendation!

i also live in the downriver area.

theres a guy down the street his name is Fred Whaley is a very good builder.

Search for him on milan dragway's website he is a very trusted builder. And has a complete machine shop in his garage.

 

Good choice on the flat pro-gram caps - best you can buy and all I use.
