Mac single cat headers, bolt to MAC dual cat ypipe

Is the only diference between the single cat and dual cat MAC headers in the ypipe, or are the headers themselves designed differently?

I have wondered the same question myself. I have heard that egr is different and that you have to bend your air tube for the 96/97 cars.

The headers and y-pipe are completely different and are not interchageable. The only way to make single cat headers (the better style) work on a dual cat car is to either:
A) get a single cat style catback
B) have a muffler shop fab up some kind of connection.

The single cat headers are much longer. Go to www.macperformance.com and see the difference.

Don't you mean the DUAL cat headers are longer? I just went there and to me it looked like the DUAL cat headers were WAY longer. Correct me if i'm looking at the wrong thing.

S Pipes should not be that hard for an exhaust shop to fab up. I would be more worried about pollution devices between the 2 sets of headers

Cool

My car came stock with dual cats. I converted over to a single cat. I would do the single cat conversion since it gets rid of the cat that sits under the collector on the driverside. It acts like a heat sink. If you do decide to do the single cat conversion all you need is o2 sims for the rear o2 sensors and a s-pipe you should be set. And when you do the single cat conversion with the mac headers the plug access is awesome! If you have any questions please feel free to e-mail me anytime. Good luck
