Sounds to me you know what you're looking for and what you need. Go for it.

Re: Mac mid headers

There is nothing wrong with the headers you want. Tell them that's what you want, and if they don't want to do it you'll spend your money somewhere else.

Re: Mac mid headers

I agree. I love my MAC headers, they work very well and make incredable power. LT's are great, but I am more than happy with the results of my MACs. Just for the record I'm going to begin working on my heads/cam soon too and will be using the MAC's! AI says I shouldn't have any problems with them as well.

Go with the Mac's if that is what you want, emissions regulations in IL are pretty strict. Your situation doesn't surprise me with Speed Inc. though, I have walked out of their frustrated several times now from a lack of good customer service.

What other good speedshops are there in the Chicagoland area?

Re: Mac mid headers

I've had my macs for years and love em, plug acess is gravy, no leaks. The only thing i'm not crazy bout is i have ground clearence issues with my o/r pipe. I think its cause i'm still running the factory intermediate pipe though. Check out Jordon Musser's website, i think he dyno'd with and with out em and pick up an amazing 30hp. I could be wrong bout that, been awhile since i seen it but i know it was damn good no.'s. If you've got alot of bolt ons and heads and cam, sure, the lt's would be better. I'm running LE2 heads and cam on a 355 with the macs. Havent fired up motor yet, next weekend, i'll let ya know what they work like.

mac headers 93-95 w/y-pipe 390.00
mac off road pipe 86.00
ceramic coating in and out 160.00
