I heard that mac headers already come with a cheap ceramic coating, is this true? If not, how much would it take to get them coated?

 

Yes, the MAC's do come coated in an HTS coating. It's not as good as a ceramic coating, but they are coated. I bought a set of the MAC's and sent them out to get ceramic coated by Jet-Hot. Since I was a member of this site I got a 10 or 15 percent discount. I believe it came out to right around 160 coated inside/outside and shipped back to me. I would definately get them ceramic coated though. The look TONS better, reduce heat and aren't as prone to rusting. Jet-Hot also has a warranty with their coating. If they ever start to rust or flake just send them back and they will recoat them.

 

How long did it take your headers to get done? My ASM's need it real bad.

 

Somewhere around a week and a half, maybe 2.

 

ive been told that macs are about to come out ceramic coated from the factory but havent had any conromation of it

 

SLP does have ceramic coating.

 

Jet-Hot direct sells coated MAC headers and off-road pipes. Contact chris@jet-hot.com and he'll hook you up. I bought my MACS through Jet-Hot and it saved me the hassle and shipping charges of buying headers and sending them to get coated.
